Making a difference for the kids at LifeTown Columbus

I want to share some information with you about an exceptional Columbus organization, LifeTown, and its annual Legends Luncheon--an inspiring event slated for May 12, with guest speaker Chris Spielman, and honoring Columbus City Schools.

As a parent of a special needs child myself, I cannot express how important this organization is to our community and to the thousands of children it helps each year. If you are not familiar with LifeTown, what it does is: 1) builds life skills and job skills in teens and young adults who, in generations past, would have had little future, and 2) lifts young people with disabilities to their fullest potential.

What is LifeTown's approach? It is simulating a village where young people can learn to bank, go to the doctor or dentist after making an appointment on their own, visit a pet store, go to the library and get their own library card, or decide if they want to spend money to see a movie or buy something at the art supply store.

LifeTown serves 2,000 young people annually with the help of 800 community volunteers. I have been a fan and supporter for some time because I have seen firsthand the impact LifeTown can have on a child and his or her family. That's why I hope you will visit their web site and watch the video below. By supporting LifeTown, you can make a difference. There are several sponsorship opportunities for the luncheon still available. For more information, please visit their web site and register online.

The Basement Doctor shared the love at the 2015 Spring Home and Garden Show

With Alissa Henry of Good Day Marketplace.
The Basement Doctor was proud to participate in this year’s Dispatch Home & Garden Show at the Ohio Expo Center on February 14 - 22.

We were excited to once again showcase our award-winning products and services to Central Ohio homeowners looking for tips, ideas and expert advice. Our booth featured the mold and moisture-resistant Magic Wall for basement finishing, eShield for attic insulation, WhiteCap for crawl space encapsulation, and Anabec, our proven mold inhibitor.

We try to make our booth as interactive and informative as possible. Show-goers could pick up information on all of our services at our solution center, and even watch video testimonials from real Basement Doctor customers. For those interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home, we invited them to take our "eShield Challenge", a walk-thru display that  shows just how effective our eShield insulation is for making your home more comfortable year-round.

People who stopped by our booth could register to win a whole-home dehumidifier from Aprilaire.  A $2,000 value, these energy efficient units eliminate damp, musty odors, help control allergies, and prevent mold and mildew. We are excited to announce the winner later this Spring.

This year’s show has also inspired a fantastic special for that will last well beyond the show's end. With day one of the show being on Valentine’s Day, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share some Basement Doctor love, and to let homeowners know about our $100 Refer-a-Friend Gift Card Program.

This program is the perfect way to earn some extra cash in your pocket by introducing family and friends to our quality products and superior customer service. The best part?  You don’t even have to be a customer. As long as your friend is a new referral and has work completed by us, you will receive a $100 VISA gift card in the mail.

In honor of Valentine’s Day this month, made our program doubly sweet. From February 10 to March 10, 2015, when you refer a friend to The Basement Doctor, you receive $100 and they receive $100.  Submit your referral online at www.mybasementdoctor.com/sharethelove.
